How can’t you love the new Milwaukee Fuel M18 Compact Impact Wrenches? They boast 250 ft. lbs of fastening and removing torque, and we proved that to be true with a CP3.0 battery!! These new M18 Compact Impact Wrenches are available bare tool or in a kit with two 5.0Ah batteries.
The New Milwaukee Fuel M18 Compact Impact Wrenches have 4-mode Drive Control settings to allow for a selection of different RPM and IPM presets. Modes 1, 2, and 3 are simply different speeds where mode 4 is an auto mode. Depending on whether the tool is in forward or reverse modes, the 4th Mode provides Auto Shut-Off and Bolt Removal modes. Auto Shut-Off mode in the forward direction applies no more than 20 ft-lbs of torque, to prevent over-tightening of fasteners. Bolt Removal mode in the reverse direction delivers full output torque and then decreases the RPM speed once the bolt is loosened, to help prevent uncontrolled fastener drops.
We have tested a lot of impact wrenches and never seen any of them have the same rated fastening torque and removal torque. At first, we thought this might be a typo, but in testing, these tools lived up to every bit of the rated spec. IMHO, these tools are under-rated by Milwaukee as we pushed the 1/2″ well beyond its rated nut-busting specs of 250 ft-lbs.
Since we are still in the M18 line, the tools are small but we still have a large battery. The size of these new impact wrenches combined with the power will make these my go-to impacts for many jobs, even larger ones. The M18 CP3.0 battery is a perfect fit on these tools and proved to provide all the power these little impact wrenches needed! These new compact impact wrenches are well worth looking at!
