Install the OEM Ford Superduty 5th Wheel In-Bed Trailer Wiring Harness Installation Part # HC3Z-15A416-A

Our 2019 Ford F250 Superduty was purchased off the lot with the 6.7 Powerstroke Diesel but without the in-bed 5th wheel wiring.  Since a good amount of our towing is pulling our 5th wheel, we wanted to have a very reliable system in place to make towing the 5th wheel easy.  After looking at many of the aftermarket systems, we feel it is best to go with the FORD OEM wiring harness as it is designed for the aluminum body and includes all the clips for factory wire retention.  This kit might cost a bit more than some aftermarket brands, but the thought of my trailer brakes working or not when needed are worth the small price increase.  We purchased our kit from Tasca Ford because we also purchased a new upgraded steering wheel for our truck at the same time.  With shipping, Amazon would be cheaper.

Installation of the Ford Wiring Harness for the in-bed plug is simple!  The OEM instructions are only needed for the template where the factory location of the plug should be.  You can download the instructions from our website.

This kit comes with everything you need for wiring, including extra zip ties.  The tools needed for installation are simple: Drill, 2-1/8″ hole saw, 11/32″ drill bit, 7mm socket or nut driver, tape and a file.  You will want to have a good automotive paint to cover the exposed aluminum from drilling the holes.  The area this plug is placed will collect a lot of dirt and possibly salt if you live in a colder climate.  Salt and exposed aluminum will speed up corrosion significantly, so it is best to be sure everything is covered well.  We used a black primer and black touch up paint.

You do not have to remove the spare tire to complete this wiring, but it will give you more room and make the job easier.  If you remove the spare, take a second to put a small amount of grease on the wire rope that holds the tire up.  This will help it to remain usable for many years to come.
