USA Made CRAFTSMAN 3000 Series 54-in Steel Rolling Tool Cabinet (CMST25480RB) & Chest (CMST25460RB) Review

Proudly Made in the USA with Global Materials in Sedalia, Missouri. American Workers formed the Craftsman 3000 Series 54-in Wide Rolling Tool Cabinet and Chest into a beautiful toolbox.  But is this toolbox everything you expect in today’s competitive market?

The Craftsman 3000 series tool cabinet and chest is built from 18 gauge steel.  The construction materials are very similar to others on the market.  We show you in the video above how they deviate slightly from other toolboxes in the same market.  The soft-close drawer slides are rated for 120-lbs with the 3 largest drawers doubling up on slides giving you a 200-pound rating.  Even with a full load in them, the soft-close system worked perfectly.  Every drawer has complete access as the slides are also full extension.  That allows for easy access to all the tools and allows for more tool storage.

Made In The USA

We hope you care about purchasing products Made in the USA.  Craftsman is a brand that all of us here grew up with and enjoyed right up to the point when they tool the tool manufacturing to China.  The tools went downhill and the brand suffered.

A while back Stanley Black and Decker stepped up and purchased the brand and has worked to bring the manufacturing back to the USA.  Many will comment that there are still global materials used in the construction of this box.  There is and some of the places you will find the global materials might surprise you.  The first place we found was the casters.  How hard is it for a USA company that makes toolboxes to make their own casters?  Evidently harder than we think.

No matter how we spin this, we as a country are still better off since SB & D has brought back many tool manufacturing to the USA.  Many DEWALT tools also proudly fly the American flag touting they are built int he USA with global materials.  We support them and hope they continue to bring more jobs back to the USA!
