The correct battery for the tool you are using is essential. The original 1.7Ah DEWALT PowerStack was a tiny battery with monstrous power. The new DEWALT 5Ah PowerStack is a larger and heavier battery that has the ability to power large tools for long periods of time with immense power and also the ability to do that without heating up.
Will the new DEWALT 5Ah PowerStack be able to eliminate the issues we have with overheating batteries? We are not 100 percent sure about that yet, but the PowerStack has been able to do a lot of work without a single bit of sweat. The new PowerStack stays very cool under some very hard use!
Voltage sag is minimal with this new DEWALT PowerStack battery, but there is a price to pay for this performance. The DEWALT PowerStack 5Ah battery is not overly affordable unless you really have the need. DEWALT claims this new battery will outlast the other batteries on the market and it might do so with the ability not to generate battery-killing heat.
There is no doubt that the performance of this new battery is outstanding!
